Johnny 5

Every printed part, in its real place, painted the way it will be. Drive him, take him apart, push him over. The push simulation illustrates the digital balance study; navigation is a game-like demonstration.

A FAMILY BUILD / MADE WITH FORGE

Curiosity, built one piece at a time.

Robert Hernandez’s Johnny 5 brings a beloved robot to the print farm. FORGE helped inspect, repair and modify the digital build: stronger travel joints, an aluminium neck support, working elbow linkages and hidden wire routes.

Explore the actual painted twin, then visit the workshop to see what’s inside. The surroundings are an original, stylised, metre-scale world.

Driving and ramps are an illustrative game controller, not a demonstration of physical powered tracks. The separate studio push test uses a simplified rigid-body model, not a safety certification. Nothing here starts a real printer.
